Hello, please let us introduce ourselves.

I’m Andy Armstrong and I founded “Off The Grid Campers Ltd” with my wife Sarah in early 2022.

We bought a campervan to go on mini adventures with our three small children. It appealed to us having a night or two away from home without losing the comfort of home, hence we opted for a new VW Campervan T6. We as a family cannot always find the time for our adventures, we thought it would be great to offer the use of the campervan to others who look to explore the UK and possibly further afield.

​We can now offer the VW 2021 long wheelbase T6 Monte Carlo conversion for hire, James as we’ve called him, as in James Cook the British explorer and voyager local to the northeast. “Our James” is maintained to the very highest standard, he is thoroughly valeted every time he is hired out. James is the perfect Campervan to Live the Adventure on or off the grid.

We are conveniently located just 5 miles west or 8 minutes driving from Junction 60 of the A1(M).

The A1(M) provides excellent and easy access to Northumberland’s beautiful coastline which is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. I am biased though, as I was born and raised in Northumberland and believe the county is magnificent. Also within a 2 hours’ drive in all directions from where we are located, you can be in the majestic and magnificent Lake District, enter historic County Durham, arrive in Yorkshire’s famous Dales and Moors, head further south and you can within 2 hours enter the Peak district, heading north the Scottish border is approx. 70 miles driving up the A68, this route does provide some absolutely magnificent views as you pass through the heart of the Northumberland National Park.

Our aim to provide you with everything you’ll need within the VW Campervan to enjoy a very special adventure, whether that’s in this gorgeous part of Great Britain or even further afield on gird or off grid.
